Character Information

Name: Eva Iden'no (Leaf)
Canon: Pokemon games
Canon Point:Post SMUSUM game
OU/AU/CRAU/OC: AU - Live Action Pokemon
Age: 23ish

World Information: Canon world!

The pokemon universe Eva comes from is strongly based on the canon + side games, only shifted to live-action, with the world a vaguely Earth-based one. Analogues can be found, but it's otherwise not a one-to-one place.

Here, the stakes are very real and the protagonists/rivals, while ranging from 13 to 14, are often dragged into events against their will and the general skill level they hold. Though the ladies are the protagonists, and the focus of the AU, they are by no means single-handedly taking down what amounts to yakuza/mafia and or terrorist groups. They are present and may help, in many events, though said events may also be taken care of by the authorities.

Pokemon do not evolve as shown in the games; rather they grow as in real life, though there are quirks of nature that enable a young teenager to have, at best, a juvenile 'final starter evolution' after only six or so months of intense competitive training, though sometimes they may end up with adult pokemon, simply through luck. To own a 'mega' takes, even with the quirks of completive training, at least a year and a half. This is because 'megas' are the true adults of select species. That said, research into 'mega stones' is very much in its infancy, and the idea is seen as a transference of will/energy that somehow enables a pokemon to rapidly grow into adulthood within a year. The cost of this is yet unknown, though there have been reports of the pokemon dying incredibly young - and riddled with tumours.

Z-power is a pure transference of will/energy from trainer to pokemon, and it seems that all captive pokemon are capable of 'z-moves'- moves of a boosted power. Despite the taxing nature of the moves, the record of 'Z-moves' per battle lies with Acerola and Nanu of Alola; Acerola's record being that of four, all with ghost pokemon, while Nanu lags behind at a mere two. It should be noted that this record has not been duplicated by him, and remains in doubt as to how legitimate it is.

Legendaries are not one of a kind. These pokemon are very rare species that are either strictly controlled, or seen as just that: legends. Owning one is normally the purview of adults and the subject of many, many laws. Everyone who owns -or even caretakes- a legend are typically strictly vetted by the Pokemon League. Typically, but there are those who hunt them, and there are those who end up with one or two by accident.

Personal History: Born in Pallet town, Eva's history more or less follows the RBGYFRLG pokemon games, though she is in no way instrumental in taking down Team Rocket. If anything, she is more a bystander who ends up caught in various events.

Eva is the oldest of three children and by the time she started school, she was fast rivals with Oak's oldest grandson, Satoru 'Blue' Oak. It's this connection that enables her to gain a pokemon from Oak himself (a rather famous name in Kanto. esp Pallet) and an experimental pokedex. From there canon follows more or less the same path as the pair set out on their journey. They challenge each other twice, with Satoru winning against Eva, who takes it in stride. She's not in it to win, thanks.

It's shortly after defeating Brock and gaining the badge that she's given the Old Amber by the Gymleader for 'safekeeping'. Though unsure of wtf is going on or why they'd give something that valuable to some random girl, Eva accepts it and continues on her way to Mt Moon. There, Eva manages to avoid everything to do with the Rockets while ending up with a male clefairy and a dome fossil.

It's in Cerulean that Eva and Satoru have their first brush with the Rockets when the pair of rookies are unwittingly caught up in a police sting on Nugget Bridge, a popular battle spot the Rockets had been using to recruit strong trainers. The pair manage to keep the ringleader distracted enough for the police to arrest him, then go their separate ways, with Satoru making a quip that Eva should go see Bill.

She does and while she doesn't see his rare pokemon, she is given a ticket for a party on the St Anne in Vermilion. Which, it turns out, is a giant ship filled with mostly rich people, lots of battles, her rival -who's raticate she accidentally kills in a battle- and a seasick captain.

The next time Eva runs into the Rockets, it's while paying her respects to fallen pokemon in Lavender, a town famous for its 'Pokemon Tower'. She's amongst those held hostage as the Rockets are hunting the rare cubone and marowak that make their home in the tower. Other hostages include Mr Fuji, Will, and Satoru. It's not a pleasant time as a man is killed when he tries to fight back. The Rockets are, after several days, dealt with via Lance, Agatha and those hostages who can fight back, with Eva and Satoru defending Mr Fuji. As thanks, she's given a pokeflute, which enables her to wake up the snorlax blocking the main road to Fuschia -after she's done with a visit to Saffron.

Which is complicated, because while she's there for her gymbadge, she and Sataoru are involved in the Rocket take over of Siph Co. Involved as in they are hostages yet again and while they do sort of manage to fight back against some of the grunts, it's not until Koga, Agatha, and Sabrina storm the building with the police that things start to get better. While the adults head up to prevent Giovanni from obtaining the prototype masterball, he does get away with the plans.

Eva is the one who finds the 'ball and she ends up keeping it because she can (it will later be used to house Fluffy, her mewtwo.)

From there events again follow canon, including a jaunt into the Safari Zone, where she finds the Warden's Gold Teeth and almost catches a chansey, only to have it run off on her. She also explores the Seafoam Islands, where she runs into Lorelei who is releasing an articuno back into the wild. From there, it's onto Cinnabar and then a jaunt to the Sevii Islands with Bill, where Eva is tasked with delivering a meteorite to a man on Two Island. During the trip, she also finds a missing girl in a forest and chases off some bikers.

Her final run-in with the Rockets comes at Viridian Gym, where she finds herself face to face with the Rocket Boss himself, Giovanni. It's less of an 'Eva gives a beatdown' and more of an 'Eva wins a badge and is caught up in a police raid on the Gym', though the man manages to get away in the chaos of it all. Eva herself gains a broken arm, though once that is healed via Lucky Egg, she sets off to challenge the pokemon league and prove herself worthy of making it past at least one of them, eventually becoming Champion almost six months to the day she set out.

From there she goes exploring and ends up in Cerulean Caves where she comes across an unknown Pokemon, which turns out to be a female mewtwo, something created by Rocket Scientists. She also comes across several Rockets who are trying to capture the thing, and she is very much witness to their deaths before the pokemon turns on her. It's out of desperation that she uses the masterball to catch it. Her life's work will be raising and caring for the mewtwo, though it is not the only one, as more are later discovered in Rocket Labs around Kanto and Johto.

Three years later finds her travelling Johto where she finds herself roped into helping stop a group of Neo-Rockets poaching legends - lugia in this case. Her travels in Johto also see her training up near the summit of Mount Silver, where she meets Krisandra and 'Niko'. There's a battle against Kris that Eva wins, though she does note Kris might have what it takes to one day oust Clair from her spot as Champion.

Otherwise, things are quiet for Eva as the years tick on, though both her and Satoru are invited to various regional and inter-regional tournaments, including the Unovan World Tournament where she meets other prodigies, who like her, have been involved or near the centre of things involving the various Criminal Teams over the years. Along with this, she comes to date, break up with, and then date again, Satoru.

It's almost ten years on from her journey that she ends up first taking a holiday to Alola (and praying to the gods she doesn't get dragged into whatever mess is going on there) and then running the Battle Tree in Alola - though she is also very much its owner- with Satoru as her righthand Admin. She does end up meeting Mizuki and having a friendly match with her, coming out on top.

Personality:
Eva is at once straightforward and complicated because she is human and she is driven to be the best she can be (which just so happens to be arguably the most powerful trainer of her generation). A human from a world entrenched in a pokemon world. It's a world without war, but that doesn't mean there's not conflict or tensions or even problems within society. There are those and she is only all too aware of what they could lead too. But Eva still lives life with a smile and optimism that things will work out for the best. That's not to say she can't be cynical or arrogant, bossy, or any number of negative things because she can and her temper finally shows, it can be explosive. But she tries not to be negative and is willing to own up to her mistakes.

Because they are her mistakes.

Even as an adult, there is a curiosity about her in regards to the natural world. She'll happily spend hours talking to someone and learning about them and making friends, something that earned her the nickname 'chatterbox'. She doesn't mind it though because it's a truthful nickname and not something cruel like 'Leaf', something gained from Satoru when they were children because of her love of leaf-based motifs.

She is compassionate and willing to help others, and while she is very much a prodigy at pokemon, she is also well aware of her limits when it comes to what she can and can't do. Though she is more willing to get involved with things now, it wasn't always that way and as a child, she was very much the 'let the adults sort it out' kind. Though that doesn't mean she can't deal with things that life throws her. She can get serious -especially about pokemon battles or training or even just raising Fluffy- and she buckles down to do what she thinks is best at the time even if it is hard or she's afraid or hurt. At the same time too, she does feel she dealt with more than any child should have really had to deal with and she has had much counselling because of it.

Her relationship with Satoru can be summed up as Honest but Complicated. While they are romantically entangled, it's not a sexual relationship as both are Ace, thank you. Moving on, they were Rivals from almost day one and they are still rivals in a sense that they sometimes do try to outdo either other. It means the relationship is complex and ever-evolving, and yes they have been through at least one break up. It was messy and it took friends and family to point out that even after a year of being broken up they were still interested in each other. So. Yea. there is a lot of complex feels! But it works for them and as far as Eva cares, that is all that matters.

In regards to pokemon, Eva fully acknowledges they are smart, capable, powerful, willful, playful, full of life with personalities, and very much not to be mistreated. But they are also not people (but she is willing admit many pokemon are highly intelligent.) She has a duty of care towards the creatures she owns and any kind of animal abuse upsets her -which is why she doesn't like talking about how Fluffy was made or how she came to own her. It upsets her too much (as does thinking about the training Satoru put his pokemon through when they were younger). It doesn't stop people from doing it though but that is often a minority as the vast majority see pokemon as friends, partners, allies. They are to be respected and yes, there are some that are much like forces of nature such as snorlax or gyarados. She knows there are no evil pokemon, only people who use them for evil. In this way, Pokemon are very much the animals of her world and are built into the very fabric of society, much like respect, compassion, and working together is. Training pokemon is just one aspect of a greater whole and she approaches it like anything in life: with compassion and respect.

That said, she is well aware of the power her pokemon hold and that if they wanted to, they could easily end her life.

Key themes: Compassion for others, doing one's best no matter what, the thrill of discovery.

Main Motivation: To do her best no matter what, because Eva does have a drive to be the best under everything.

Skills:
- Pokemon trainer, see item.
- she's a prodigy when it comes to pokemon, be it battles or just facts about them.
- from the world of pokemon, so it should be said that she's well aware of dangerous situations and how to generally cope with them.
- She has survival skills for living rough, though these are naturally adapted to a world with pokemon but it doesn't mean she's helpless.
- She has mad bike skills ok.
- Encyclopedic knowledge on pokemon.
- has the art skills of Stick Figures.
- She speaks Kantan/Yamatan, Alolan, some Unovan, and a handful of Kalosian.

Princess is an adult male clefairy who stands roughly 2'2 tall when on his hind legs.
Type: Fairy
Attacks:
Icy Wind
Telekinesis
Moonblast
Rest
Mega Punch
Flash

(These are the ones Princess uses in battles. He technically also knows Pound, Sing, Growl and Bite, though they aren't considered attacks, nor are they permitted in battle, so much as natural defence mechanisms of his species.)
