Her head shoots up at the commotion, and while Eva doesn't know what's happened (but she can guess), she can see someone running in her general direction and that's all she needs, really, to know it's probably a pickpocket.

She could stay out of it. Could let the thief get away, but at the same time, she's not a kid anymore and she is a Champion, ex or not and knowing that, the choice is made.

Naturally, she sticks out her foot -an innocent stretch, that's all, really- just as the thief's passing her. That she tripped a person and they went sprawling onto concrete is ignored.

The same with complaints and curses as she expertly pins him, hand already working to remove the pokebelt because the last thing anyone needs is a street battle in the middle of a market. "Someone want to get security to deal with this guy?"

That is a very bad attempt to disguise her voice (and that sure is a Kantan accent), but it's not like she's planning on sticking around.
