There was something to be said about staring up the burgeoning night sky after a day of training Wingthing along the coast just outside Canalave's jurisdiction. Maybe it was because it was summer and both moons were full, a shining rarity in the sky, even if the smaller had a negligible impact on everything at best. Or maybe it was the fact Princess had settled back on his hunches as he stared up at them.
Nor did it take long for the clefairy's wings to shimmer and glow, nor to defy gravity and logic. His wings were too small for actual flight. Not that they were for flight, unlike a clefables. No. A clefairy's wings simply gave maneuverability as they zipped about the air, going no higher than seven feet off the ground at most. Sometimes he even just hovered there and stared at the moon.
"Mood-addled, that's what you are." There's a fondness to Eva's voice though and a smile on her face.
It seems like she's alone, but there's another pokemon not far away; an aerodactyl, the massive pokemon still feeding on the remains of a rather large dragonair.
Or it was until it's massive head swings up, eyes tracking to something as a low rumble escapes its throat.
Eva's instantly on her feet, hand dropping to her (full) pokebelt. "Who's there?"

Without a word, and instead a whistle, Morgan commands Inari to sniff out and chase out a Pachirisu to be the food instead of her and the shiny Ninetales. The voice of someone nearby makes her jump, hand reflexively shooting to one of her Pokeballs as she steps forward out of the trees into the moonlight, her family crest tattoo brightly visible as the moons shone on it. It takes her a moment before she sees who she's staring at, and it's none other than Kanto's Champion, Eva Iden'no.
"I did not expect to see Kanto's Champion around Canalave. My apologies if I startled you." Her voice is apologetic but on-guard as Inari comes back and sits right next to where Morgan's standing, eyeing Eva intently. A bright cherry blossom shaped tag dangles from a collar around her neck, the same symbol on Morgan's arm.

Still, Eva's hand doesn't leave her belt as she approaches the other woman and the shiny ninetales (a fighter, if Eva was any judge.) Just in case, but given Wingthing was more inclined to muzzle first into the dragonair's guts, it was unlikely anything'd happen.
Eva's eyes are drawn to the tattoo and pendent and she blinks.
Then promptly blanches. She knows enough about the Yamatai Kazoku circles (thanks to Blue) to know that family crest is rather high and wasn't their Heiress betrothed to the Sinnohan Empress's cousin?
All protests she's not a Champion -meaningless, given once a Champion, always a Champion- die in her mouth. Um. Her life. What even.
She gives a deep bow, hand dropping from the pokebelt as well. This woman's so above Eva in social rank that things like 'more powerful trainer' don't really matter. "No. It's I who should be sorry. Forgive me, I didn't release one of your standing was around here."
Behind both ex-Champion and feeding pokemon, Princess settles back down on the ground.

Eva's change in facial expression tells Morgan everything she needed to know, she's seen those expressions before from so many that have found out her true identity and started fumbling their words and almost worshiping the very ground she walks on. She loathes it, but has accepted it and her standing. Something she's learned that comes with the territory of eventually marrying into royalty as well as being from an ancient Sinnohan family.
"Please." She holds up a hand, sighing with a soft, dejected, smile. "I know our families are of different rank, but I'd like to put that aside, at least for this moment. A Champion is quite the feat enough to be seen as equals is it not?"

This was just like being invited to dinner with the Oaks back when she'd first started dating Satoru only to find Agatha was there too. She could this.
Except her mind is blanker than blank and all she can think of to ask is the reason she's out here in the first place. "S...So, where you training as well?"

"I was, yes. Until I saw that P'tera, yours I assume?" She knows that it couldn't be a wild one, or worse, one that could have been released. There were too many dangers with that species to be left on its own, too many people at risk were it not owned by someone. Her team, strong as they may be, would still be at risk against the creature.

Of which Mt Moon was easily the most famous and one of The Cave systems to explore. More to the point, the lie is easy. It's one she's kept ever since Brock gave her the amber back in Pewter with the order to keep it hidden. "And got her revived as soon as I hit Guren and their labs there."

"An impressive rare find, many have searched for years and I don't think I have ever heard of anyone find such a fossil there." There's slight suspicion, but nothing that is anything to worry about. Everyone has their secrets and it's no place of hers to nose into. After all, she has secrets herself that she'd rather not have people know. Family secrets at that.

Eva shrugs, not bothered by the suspicion, given it is something she's delt with over the years. "Most people only look around Mt Moon," there's a roll of her eyes; it was true though, but the cave systems weren't exactly dripping with fossils; she's been lucky to get Helmutt's when she did. "I'd actually headed towards Mount Araki to see the 'falls there and pay a visit to the Shrines of the Mirages there."
She had, in fact, been there a few times. Though, never in winter... yet.
